Because of YOU we had the best year!
Our students are so thankful for the partnership, love, and friendship you provided this year, so they came together to make a wonderful video to express their thanks!
Center City Vision Awards
Brookstone Voices will have the spotlight at the 2017 Vision Awards hosted by Charlotte Center City Partners! Center City Partners invited our select choir to entertain guests at the award gala that honors those who have made the city a more vibrant urban core.
Hand in Hand We Shine!
More than 600 men and women from across the city united for our annual Friend & Fund Raiser! The gala was a special celebration of all that is happening and will happen in the lives of our Students. Our keynote speaker, Dr. Vernard Gant powerfully shared his knowledge of the crisis in education for lower-income students.
It’s Time to Celebrate!
We met our fundraising goal of raising $150,000 to secure the Challenge grant. Gifts from new donors and increased giving from current donors made it possible for us to secure this exceptional gift from The Leon Levine Foundation. Thank you!
Save the date for the 2017 Friend & Fund Raiser!
Our keynote speaker is Dr. Vernard Gant, Director of ACSIACE Student Success Center and overseer of more than 750 schools nationwide who serve economically disadvantaged students. He knows firsthand the role that education plays in closing the gap for our youth! We’re currently accepting both Corporate and Table Sponsors for our annual gala. This is the best opportunity to invite family, friends, and colleagues to experience the joy and hope we have at Brookstone! Musical entertainment provided by Dr. Bill Cummings and the Brookstone Voices Choir.
Highly successful tutor training offered in January 2017
Augustine Literacy Project (ALP) is partnering with Brookstone to host their Winter 2017 tutor training HERE. We have 10 spaces reserved specifically for Brookstone Volunteers to be trained in the Orton-Gillingham method.
We’re not without HOPE
It has been a difficult and eye-opening week for our city, and another reminder of the deep need for God’s mercy and healing for such a time as this. As Head of School Steve Hall has reminded us from Psalm 146, “joyful are those who have the God of Israel as their helper, whose hope is the Lord their God. Now, perhaps more than ever, our Christ-centered mission has a vital role to play in giving under-resourced students a hopeful future. Thank you for supporting us as we strive together to be a channel of blessing to urban children and families. May we continue to hold fast to our Helper and our Hope.
Mark your calendars!
Start your day in an inspiring way! Join us for our annual fall Business Breakfast on October 6 from 7:00-8:30 am.
